I was recruited for the CEO role by the lead investor and the CEO of a publicly traded food delivery company. Our goal was to re-imagine the public relations business for restaurants through a technology-first approach.

I joined Betterfly via acquisition and assumed the role of CTO and Head of Product during a pivotal transformation of the business. I led the creation of a bleeding-ede browser-based video chat platform that connected millions of consumers with personal service providers, i.e. guitar teachers, life coaches, and Spanish tutors.
Our product attracted immediate attention in the market upon launch. I co-led the inbound corporate development activity from multiple interested parties and we agreed to an acquisition of the business in under one year. The acquiring business went on to be acquired by Microsoft.
DealsGoRound was the world's first secondary market for the multi-billion dollar daily deal industry including Groupon, LivingSocial, and Google Offers. The business was incubated in the venture studio of Lighbank and eventually capitalized through multiple rounds of venture capital funding. As the daily deal industry rose and eventually fell, the company became part of an aquihire into another portfolio company of the lead investor.
I was recruited to join Lightbank, a $200M early stage venture capital fund, as their first Entrepreneur in Residence. I led the creation of the internal venture studio where I was responsible for identifying, building, and testing new business ideas from the ground up. In addition, I advised existing portfolio companies on Product, Growth, and Technology while also sourcing new investments from the larger Midwest startup community.
