I taught myself to code when I was a kid because I loved it. I studied business in college because I thought I should. Now I use both.
I am a technology entrepreneur with an affinity for marketplaces. In 2010, I founded the largest secondary market for the then-exploding daily deal industry. Our platform connected the millions of daily deal consumers to buy, sell and exchange deal vouchers in real time via web and mobile applications. Two years later, through an acquisition, I was brought on board as the CTO of Betterfly, a marketplace which connects millions of consumers with personal service providers, i.e. guitar teachers, life coaches, Spanish tutors, etc. through the power of live video chat.
I thrive in and love the early stages of a company. Hard work and learning is my addiction. I’ve worked at a VC firm and also started and operated both on and offline businesses. I wrote my first software product, a corporate payroll application, in BASIC at the age of 13. My team’s efforts have been venture backed by Lightbank, Chicago Ventures, New World Ventures, Great Oaks Venture Capital and several prominent angel investors and our work has been covered in print and on television including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, TechCrunch, USA Today, CBS, NBC and many other prominent media outlets.
I’ve also spent a fair amount of time working for corporate giants like IBM and PricewaterhouseCoopers, but let’s not talk about that.
